Bruce brings us into the heart of the theme of the book to the Colossians, looking at who is Jesus Christ, the very reason we can be rooted in the gospel. Bruce takes us through the truth of the supremacy of the Lord Jesus Christ in relation to God, to creation and to us, God’s people; the church.
Michael Harber continues in the series, “Rooted in the Gospel”, looking at two key themes: 1. How knowing God’s will is a practical and spiritual exercise but starts with accepting the gospel and 2. How we are rescued from darkness and brought into the Kingdom of Christ through the act of redemption – the foundation of the gospel message.
Michael Harber sets the context for our next series in the book of Colossians and begins the series looking at definition of the true gospel and considering the faith, hope and love of these New Testament christians and the example of Epaphrous, a faith servant of Jesus Christ.
Dave wraps up the series, “Living in the Light of the End Times” with a look at the last few closing thoughts from Paul: Persevere in good, protect your faith and pray for peace from the Lord of Peace.
Michael unpacks the principle of work as explained in the Bible and in particular, the example and instruction given by Paul to the church in Thessalonica. He looks at how being human, created in the image of God, is foundational to our understanding of work and living out the purpose God has for us and how idleness is warned against for Christians who want to bring glory to God.
Bruce encourages us in two key spheres of our christian walk, “standing firm” and “holding fast” as we look at 2 Thessalonians 2. We need to be careful of not being lead astray by false teaching by holding onto the truth of God’s word. Bruce explains more about the Bible teaches about the “day of the Lord”.
Johan continues our series in Living the Light of the End Times with this sermon on how Paul addresses two issues that unsettled the Thessalonian church and how these relate to the church today: False teaching and the justice against those who persecute christians. He looks at how standing by the truth of the scriptures is critical to securing our unsettled hearts.
In the final message of the series on identity, Tim van Stormbroek brings to light the incredible privilege and responsible of displaying our identity in Christ to world, how it shapes our ultimate purpose, it cost Jesus everything and it is evidence of the ultimate miracle. He takes us through how we can display our identity in Christ in both practical and profound terms. A special thank to Tim, Annie and the family for joining us on Camp 2019!
In his second message in the series, Tim van Stormbroek dives deeper into the identity question to help us understand what the Bible tells us about who we are in Christ.
Tim van Stormbroek takes us on a journey of discovery in his three messages on Family Camp 2019 playing on the theme of the Bourne movie series. He unlocks the “Bourne Again” mystery of our identity in Christ looking at key passages in Ephesians and Galatians to see how our identity dilemma when we discover what it means to have our identify defined “in Christ”.
