Samuel brings us the first in our Christmas series, looking at two of the most wonderful gifts given to man at Christmas: Joy and Peace. These are given to us through the greatest gift of all, Jesus Christ, the Son of God
Dave continues the series in Colossians looking at part 2 of the Christ centred family. This week he looks at how cultures have changed but God’s principles for family haven’t and need to applied in the context of 2019 in a way which honours God and His word. The principles are radical when applied correctly and have the potential to be a great example of God’s work in our lives.
Dave starts a two part series on the Christ centred family, looking at the how being rooted in the gospel, impacts on each relationship in the family and how we can experience all that God wants for us as families as we surrender to Him as the centre and Lord.
Bruce continues the series in Colossians, explaining Paul’s instructions for living a life pleasing to God by focusing on 4 key instructions from the passage.
Paul compares the four things that we are judged by in out modern culture to those we should aspire after as followers as Christ. In the world, our identity is tied up in what we look like, what we do, what we have and who we know. But in Colossians 3, the Apostle Paul instructs us to put our focus on what is above!
Bruce continues the series “Rooted in the Gospel” with a look at some of the false teaching that had crept into the church at Colossae and explains some of the “isms” that had tried to replace the truth of the gospel. As Christians, 2000 years later, we need to be on our guard against similar thinking that is packaged in a different form but leads us away from the simple truth of the good news of salvation and spiritual life found in Jesus Christ alone.
Michael considers the mystery of “Christ in you”, the hope of glory as we continue in the series in Colossians.
Dave brings to an end the short series on evangelism; That they might be saved. He looks at God’s end time goal, bringing all nations and tribes under a new kingdom, redeemed from the kingdom of darkness and brought into light, before the final judgement of the world. He considers our role as ambassadors for Christ of His Kingdom and the ministry we have been given.
Johan helps with some very practical steps in Conquering Fear in Evangelism in our evangelism series. He considers where our fears come from and why, from a Biblical perspective we can and should overcome these and then gives a practical method for tackling any fears in our life and in particular, some examples of the fear of reaching out to others with the good news of Jesus.
We take a short break from our Colossians series on the gospel with a three week series on evangelism. We see this as such an important part of our role as a church – to be heralds and stewards of the amazing message of good news that Jesus brings in the gospel. Bruce starts the series off with a consideration of our hearts – this is where evangelism needs to start.
