Michael Harber continues in the series, “Rooted in the Gospel”, looking at two key themes: 1. How knowing God’s will is a practical and spiritual exercise but starts with accepting the gospel and 2. How we are rescued from darkness and brought into the Kingdom of Christ through the act of redemption – the foundation of the gospel message.
Johan closes the series on 1 Thes in this, his final message with us here at ECF. Johan looks at how we can have absolute security and peace in the love of God based on the faithful work of our Lord Jesus Christ. He looks at how this impacts us both daily, in the here and now and in the future, for eternity.
Michael shares what it means to live life in the church family and explores the key attributes of living peaceably and joyfully and being careful not to dismiss prophesies found in Scripture. He starts by reminding us again of our position in Christ and the process of sanctification in our lives, being built on a foundation of love.
Paul continues the series on Living in the Light of the end Times, considering the Day of the Lord and what it isn’t. Paul encourages us in our walk of faith, hope and love in light of the wrath that is to come for those who have not accepted Christ as Lord and Saviour.
Johan brings the series, “Reflect for Change” to an end for now with this challenge from the life of King Josiah – to rediscover God’s Word for ourselves, to realign our lives to God’s message and refocus our lives as we consider the “big picture”.
Johan preaches from 1 Cor 15 on the power of the resurrection in the life of a believer and how as modern day believers we can experience God’s power as we let go of the controls in our life and allow God to free us from the power of sin and death.
Johan takes us on a journey through the next two elements of the ECF vision “transforming and equipping” as we continue to explore Acts, looking in depth at the process of transformation and the key practical aspects of equipping in the truth of scripture and equipping to serve. .
Johan looks at the second in the series, Exploring Acts, considering the centrality of Christ to the scriptures, salvation and our daily witness as Christ followers – this is a message which reminds us that without Christ at the center of all we are and do, we have nothing and can do nothing of spiritual value.
Michael asks us to consider once again, that vital question, “What is truth?” He examines what Jesus’s resurrection means in answering that question. He considers the title “doubting Thomas” and encourages us to make an honest quest for truth in our own lives and explains how God will honour that desire if we, in our hearts, are truly open to the truth.
