Michael Harber sets the context for our next series in the book of Colossians and begins the series looking at definition of the true gospel and considering the faith, hope and love of these New Testament christians and the example of Epaphrous, a faith servant of Jesus Christ.
Michael unpacks the principle of work as explained in the Bible and in particular, the example and instruction given by Paul to the church in Thessalonica. He looks at how being human, created in the image of God, is foundational to our understanding of work and living out the purpose God has for us and how idleness is warned against for Christians who want to bring glory to God.
Michael shares what it means to live life in the church family and explores the key attributes of living peaceably and joyfully and being careful not to dismiss prophesies found in Scripture. He starts by reminding us again of our position in Christ and the process of sanctification in our lives, being built on a foundation of love.
Michael asks us to consider once again, that vital question, “What is truth?” He examines what Jesus’s resurrection means in answering that question. He considers the title “doubting Thomas” and encourages us to make an honest quest for truth in our own lives and explains how God will honour that desire if we, in our hearts, are truly open to the truth.
Michael Harber continues in our series on John and takes us through the events after Jesus crucifixion unpacking the facts that Jesus died on his own accord, the evidence that our faith is not a blind faith and the courage and sacrifice of Joseph and Nicodemus. Michael takes time to apply these truths to our faith today.
