Johan is an Associate Pastor at ECF and recently joined the church after completing his theology degree at Bibile Institute. He is engaged to Sinead and they will get married later this year.
Johan brings the series, “Reflect for Change” to an end for now with this challenge from the life of King Josiah – to rediscover God’s Word for ourselves, to realign our lives to God’s message and refocus our lives as we consider the “big picture”.
Johan makes us reflect for a change as we look into the account of Aaron’s two son, priests who experienced Gods wrath because they acted in disobedience. We are challenged to ensure we are not taking advantage of God’s grace but understand that God is holy and will be glorified.
Johan looks at the final sermon in the series on worship, considering the topic of service. He unpacks the parable of the talents and reminds us of the importance of using what God has given us for his glory.
Johan begins a new Christmas Series calling us to worship the Saviour and looking at the aspect of praise. He takes us through Psalm 100 as a blueprint for intentional, joyful and heartfelt praise. For us to praise our awesome God we need to know him and have a grateful heart.
Johan looks at the second in the series, Exploring Acts, considering the centrality of Christ to the scriptures, salvation and our daily witness as Christ followers – this is a message which reminds us that without Christ at the center of all we are and do, we have nothing and can do nothing of spiritual value.
Johan brings us a devotion after a time of prayer as a church and asks a question we need to ask ourselves. He looks at the passage that challenges us to find our source in God alone.
Johan challenges us to consider the two kingdoms at play in this important passage: the kingdom and purposes of man (active and passive actions) and the kingdom and purposes of God. We need to chose which kingdom we will serve!
Johan begins teaching on the crucifixion narrative as we continue our series in the gospel of John. Judas betrays Jesus but God’s love is demonstrated in his response in grace.
Johan continues in our series in the gospel of John, explaining how the Holy Spirit works in applying redemption, starting with convicting the world, guiding the apostles in all truth and illuminating the Word to us and finally in glorifying Christ and shining the spotlight on Him and His work.
