Bruce and Bonnie Newsham
Bruce and Bonnie do pastoral work at ECF – visitation, encouraging, preaching and teaching and showing hospitality. Bruce provides Bible study materials and leads a systematic theology class for folk in the church. Bruce lectures at the Evangelical Bible College in Strandfontein and Bonnie helps with administration and Biblical Counselling. As a couple they also serve at Creation Ministries International and go on short term missions to Zimbabwe.
Stuart and Teresa were commended as missionaries and have been serving the Lord with Precept Ministries International. Precept seeks to encourage the study of the scriptures through the inductive method. Stuart is their Regional Director for Africa and as such travels throughout Africa contacting mainly churches to advance this method of studying the scriptures through training and providing Bible study courses written with the inductive method in mind. Teresa home schools their three sons and is a huge encourager and prayer support to Stuart. She also serves as secretary to the South Africa and Africa boards.
Kurt and Thea Schönhoff
Kurt and Thea work in the Cape Town harbour bringing the good news of salvation in the Lord Jesus Christ to the seamen. They distribute bibles, scriptural booklets and calendars to the ships staff and hold church services and prayer meetings on the ships when security allows. With the help of ECF members they also distribute presents to the seamen at Christmas time, a very welcomed event.
Ronelle van Heerden
Ronelle works for Operation Mobilisation in the USA as their Literature Team Administrator, a new venture for OM, namely internet sales and wholesale selling. This has proven a great success for OM and she knows that she is in the place the Lord wants her to be.
Hans and Ruth have been full-time missionaries working in prisons in the Boland area and also in the De Novo rehabilitation centre. Their work involves sharing the Gospel through various courses, teaching character development and life-skills to adult and juvenile offenders. This includes follow-up of ex-offenders and parolees. In 2004 their work extended to training others (teachers, health professionals, correctional officers etc) to teach the same courses and develop training teams locally and internationally. More recently, since 2007, they have also been doing this in Eastern Europe (Poland, Romania, Moldova) and the Seychelles, working through Campus Crusade teams and Education Ministries in these countries.
